Terms and Conditions for Sigma Expeditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the contractual relationship between Sigma Expeditions (“SE”) and its customers. By booking an expedition, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Booking Process and Payment
  • Availability and Confirmation: All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation by SE. A booking is confirmed only upon issuance of a confirmation email by SE.
  • Deposit Requirements: A deposit of 30% per person is required upon registration to secure your seat. This deposit is non-refundable and any bank transfer charges are the responsibility of the sender.
  • Remaining Payments: The balance must be paid no later than 60 days before the expedition’s departure. Failure to meet payment deadlines may result in cancellation without refund.
  • Payment Methods: Payments can be made via credit card or bank transfer, as specified during the booking process.
3. Customer Responsibilities
  • Travel Documentation: Customers are responsible for ensuring all travel documents are current and valid, including passports and visas.
  • Health and Medical Guidelines: Customers must ensure they are medically and physically fit to participate in the expedition’s activities. It is advised to seek medical advice at least one month prior to travel.
  • Behavior and Conduct: Customers must comply with local laws and customs. Unacceptable behavior may result in removal from the expedition without refund.
  • Prohibited Substances: The use of illegal drugs is strictly prohibited.
4. Cancellations and Refunds
  • Cancellation by the Traveler: If you cancel your booking, cancellation fees will apply according to the following schedule:
    • 41 days & above: 70% refundable
    • 31 – 40 days: 50% refundable
    • 21 – 30 days: 40% refundable
    • Less than 21 days: No refund
  • Cancellation by SE: SE may cancel the expedition due to unforeseen circumstances such as terrorism, natural disasters, or political instability. In such cases, you may choose an alternative departure date or receive a full refund.
5. Changes to Itinerary

SE reserves the right to alter the itinerary due to logistical considerations or safety concerns. No refunds will be provided for changes.

6. Liability and Risk Disclaimer
  • Participants acknowledge the risks of adventure travel. SE disclaims liability for any injury, damage, or loss except where liability cannot be excluded by law.
7. Privacy Policy

Personal information collected may be used for the operation of your tour or to send marketing material. We will not disclose your information to unauthorized third parties.

8. General Provisions
  • Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Amendments: SE reserves the right to amend these Terms; customers will be notified of significant changes.
